🔥 Burn Law Advisory for Spring Fire Season 2025

The 4 PM Burning Law is in effect from February 15 to April 30. This law prohibits open-air burning before 4 PM during this time. What is prohibited? -Burning before 4 PM -Burning within 300 feet of woodland, brushland, or fields with dry grass -Leaving fires unattended within 150 feet of woodland, brushland, or fields with dry grass -Starting new fires, adding fuel, or rekindling fires after midnight What is permitted? -Burning between 4 PM and midnight with proper precautions -Burning yard debris, leaves, trees, brush, and garden trimmings What are the penalties? -A fine of up to $500 -Payment of court costs and fire suppression costs if the fire escapes If you plan to do a controlled burn, please call the Scott County Non-Emergency number and let them know your name and the location of the controlled burn
